First off, I want to say thanks so much for taking the time out of your day to read this. Words cannot describe the amazing feeling you get as a writer when you have fans there to support you.
With that being said, I want to tell you a little bit about my life. Let’s get to know each other, right? Because if my books interest you, then I promise we most likely have something in common. And what better way to connect than over a good book?
Let’s start by saying I love animals. Animals are a HUGE part of my writing and definitely a huge part of my life! If any of you have read It Starts With Me, then you understand the depth of influence that animals hold in my everyday existence.
Jameson was a very special boy. I was blessed with him in 2016 when he was just a puppy. I acquired him with the idea of service in mind, and so I had worked with him in training for Psychiatric Service and he went EVERYWHERE with me. To work, on campus, out to eat.. it didn’t matter. Jameson was with me always. He helped me in more ways than I could ever explain. This was when I got the idea for a novel about a girl and her dog taking on the world.
Fast forward to 2020 and my world crumbled when I found out my big baby boy had cancer. I lost him when he was only 4 years old and I admit it took a toll. A lot of my life began to change and I put my writing on the back burner because the thought of writing such a great bond on paper made it hard to breathe. But after a few months, I realized that I needed to finish what I’d started and honor this boy in the best way possible: a book.
Fast forward again and I’ve got a new guy by my side! His name is Timber and man is he a pain in my rear end.. but I guess in a good way!?
He loves to be outside, always wants to hike, and absolutely goes nuts when he can swim. Sometimes he dabbles in chasing one (or all) of my four cats (four, yes I know, crazy cat lady!)
Timber helped me learn new things; things I didn’t realize I needed to learn. And now that I have, I am beginning to come to terms with the grief of losing my best friend, Jameson.
BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE!
You thought four cats was crazy?? Try NINETEEN snakes (and counting??).
Yes, you read that right.
I am a HUGE ball python maniac and each snake is different than the last! I could write a whole article just on them, (and maybe I will 😉🤭).
If you ever want to talk snakes, well then I’m always down! I know they aren’t a favorite of most, but when I tell you a ball python is just a big noodle puppy, then I’m telling you, it’s true! They are the sweetest little things in the whole world!
Needless to say, animals (of ALL types) take up a HUGE part of my life and I wouldn’t ask for it to be any other way.
I have a very fun Bearded Dragon named Bones, and a funny ferret business that includes Echo, Havoc, Finn, Lucifer, Loki, Ivy, and Tabasco. I plan on adding other reptiles and furry friends to my family in the near future, so please let me know if you want continued updates on those. As for the other portion of my life? Well, I love reading (romance is a favorite of mine), writing, drawing, designing. You know, really anything creative. If you’ve got something, I’m always down to give my praise! I love art in general, a good story, a nice design piece, you name it. Hell, I often fill my time with random things that absolutely have no real reason. See, below, for example. Does anyone REALLY need a cocktail menu with all of their alcohol themed snakes on it? 😅😅
So if you ALSO like doing random artsy things, say a sketch of a snake wrapped around a drink? …
Then I’d say we’d get along pretty well!!
But, besides art and creative things, you may find me bowling (because all of my family grew up bowling), or you might find me watching TV because we can’t always be on the go. Sometimes bingewatching a nice show is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered.
I also really enjoy Animal Crossing (which Lily is the best, obvi.. otherwise I wouldn’t have named my cat after her) and Nightmare Before Christmas (Halloween is my favorite holiday!). If you‘ve got cute Animal Crossing islands, or designs, PLEASE (pretty, pretty please) share with me!
Pokémon is another favorite of mine. Bulba squad here! I never actually played the card game, though (oops!). I have, however, dabbled in Magic the Gathering, and World of Warcraft was my whole life during the pandemic (sorry, not sorry!).
And music? Oh, absolutely! My taste is pretty eclectic and I love getting new recommendations and I’d be down to give some myself! Music is a very important part of my life, and I believe life would be dreary without it. Well, super quiet anyways.
